How do I get red lipstick off my kittens fur?

I came home from a long day away from my kitten, and kissed her on the top of her head, forgetting I had red lipstick on -- now she's got a big kiss imprint. How do I get it off? I've tried a damp cloth and it just smudged it and made it look worse.

  1. The thing with fur and anything with oil in it (like your lipstick), is that it's almost impossible to wash off.

However, being the fastidiously clean creature she is, I'd just leave it alone and let it wear off naturally. It shouldn't take that long.

  2. I just did this to my dog too! (she's completely white and my lips were bright pink :/) I just left it, it was on her neck so she couldn't lick it (don't let her, its bad for her.) and it's gone now. (it's been about a week.) I think cat shampoo could work, but your best bet is to just leave it alone. :)

  3. You could either bathe her, or take a cloth with some cat shampoo on it and clean that spot directly. If that doesn't work then you could either clip it off, or just wait for her to clean it off herself. I'm sure the lipstick won't hurt her at all.

  4. take scissors that are NOT sharp, the ones for little kids, and carefully cut off the edge of the hair. nice little haircut, the hair will grow again.

  5. You could try some hydrogen peroxide on a washcloth. Wipe the stain, then rinse it with a washcloth with just water.
    Maybe a make-up remover towelette.
