Can I use green grapes instead of red grapes for a chicken salad?

The recipe calls for red grapes but I only have green grapes. Any suggestions?

  2. Yes you can. Add a little shredded mozzarella cheese or feta cheese cubes to take the sweetness away from the grapes.

  3. As far as taste goes, it's a good substitution, but I think the reason for specifying red was to lend some color to the salad. The color makes it more appetizing.

I "color" my chicken salad with those mixed frozen vegetables (peas + carrots + corn). These have absolutely no taste, but look good.

  4. I've had chicken salad made with green grapes before. Very delicious. You might also want to add some walnuts also if you have any on hand. For a tropical twist you can also use a mixture of pineapple tidbits and coconut in addition to the walnuts.

  5. Go ahead and use green ones, it's YOUR salad. They also have the advantage of being seedless, red grapes have seeds.
